You spend about a third of your life on it, so do not buy one from a picture. Come and lie on them first at our mattress shops in Blackpool and Cleveleys.
What is inside
- Pocket sprung: each spring in its own fabric pocket. Less roll-together if there are two of you.
- Memory foam / cool foam layers: mould to your shape. Some (like BluCool) are made to help keep you cooler.
- Orthopaedic sprung units: a firmer traditional feel. Our SDL uses a 12.5 gauge orthopaedic sprung unit.
- Covers: cotton, silk composite, Tencel and similar. Ask us what you can feel.
Spring count is one clue, not the whole story. Fillings and how it feels to you matter just as much.
Firmness: a rough guide
| How you sleep | Often suits |
|---|---|
| On your side | Soft to medium |
| On your back | Medium to firm |
| On your front | Firm |
| Two of you, different tastes | Lie on a few together |
It is a rough guide, not a rule. The only real test is lying on it in your normal sleep position.
